Recently a flyer from a local church was sent around with this message, here it is in full.

If Your Child is a Gothic, Reform Through the Lord!
Listed below are some warning signs to indicate if your
child may have gone astray from the Lord.

Gothic (or goth) is a very obscure and often dangerous
culture that young teenagers are prone to participating in. The gothic culture leads young, susceptible minds into an imagined world of evil,darkness, and violence. Please seek immediate attention through counselling, prayer,
and parental guidance to rid your child of Satan's temptations if five or more of the following are applicable to your child:

-Frequently wears black clothing.
-Wears band and/or rock t-shirts.
-Wears excessive black eye makeup, lipstick or nailpolish.
-Wears any odd, silver jewelry or symbols. Some of these include:
reversed crosses, pentagrams, pentacles, ankhs or various
other Satanic worshipping symbols.
-Shows an interest in piercings or tattoos.
-Listens to gothic or any other anti-social genres of
music. (Marilyn Manson claims to be the anti-Christ, and publicly speaks
against the Lord. Please discard any such albums IMMEDIATELY.)
-Associates with other people that dress, act or speak
eccentrically.
-Shows a declining interest in wholesome activities, such
as: the Bible, prayer, church or sports.
-Shows an increasing interest in death, vampires, magic,
the occult, witchcraft or anything else that involves Satan.
-Takes drugs.
-Drinks alcohol.
-Is suicidal and/or depressed.
-Cuts, burns or partakes in any other method of self-mutilation. (This is a Satanic ritual that uses pain to detract from the light of God and
His love. Please seek immediate attention for this at your local mental health center.)
-Complains of boredom.
-Sleeps too excessively or too little.
-Is excessively awake during the night.
-Dislikes sunlight or any other form of light. (This pertains to
vampires promoting the idea that His light is of no use.)
-Demands an unusual amount of privacy.
-Spends large amounts of time alone.
-Requests time alone and quietness. (This is so that your child may speak to evil sprits.)
-Insists on spending time with friends while unaccompanied by an adult.
-Disregards authority figures; teachers, priests, nuns and
elders are but a few examples of this.
-Misbehaves at school.
-Misbehaves at home.
-Eats excessively or too little.
-Eats goth-related foods. Count Chocula cereal is an example of this. (COUNT CHOCULA CEREAL MEANS YOU COMMUNICATE WITH THE DEVIL)
-Drinks blood or expresses an interest in drinking blood.
(Vampires believe this is how to attain Satan. This act is very dangerous and should be stopped immediately.)
-Watches cable television or any other corrupted media
sources. (Ask your local church for proper programs that your child may watch.)
-Plays videos games that contains violence or role-playing nature.
-Uses the internet excessively and frequently makes time for the computer.
-Makes Satanic symbols and/or violently shakes head to music.
-Dances to music in a provocative manner.
-Is homosexual and/or bisexual.
-Pursues dangerous cult religions. Such include: Satanism, Scientology, Philosophy, Paganism, Wicca, Hinduism and Buddhism.
-Wears pins, stickers or anything else that contains these various phrases: "I'm so gothic, I'm dead", "woe is me", "I'm a goth".
-Claims to be a goth.

If five or more of these apply to your child, please intervene immediately. The gothic culture is dangerous and Satan thrives within it. If any of these problems persist, enlist your child into your local mental health center.

I for one totally agree with this! The Gothic subculture is evil and corrupts the minds and bodies of the young. I myself almost fell prey to this evil group, many of my friends have, but I luckily was saved. I urge everyone here not to hate Gothics but to pity them, they are in need of help, they must be saved from themselves and the vile persuasion of Evil. What's your views on this satanic culture hiding in plain sight?

We like peace and quite some times, just like you and others

Cant we hang out with our friends?

Roleplaying never hurt anyone... does it not say on the Gaia home page "RolePlaying Community"?

How are we to keep in touch with friends and find out information that isn't on the new and not in books?

Its called Headbanging and it does nothing but give you a headache and stimulate the brain for thinking...

They are just sayings... I dont wear any, but I dont see anything wrong with it...

I am over half of these things and i am no where near "Goth".... I have friends that are "Goth" and beleave me, I look nothing like them. Not all "goths" are "evil"... Some are the nicest people I have ever met. Look at the crime that is out there, half of it leads back to churchs.... What kind of a priest hits you if you say crap? What kind of a priest rapes and molests little children? I have seen groups of people, storm out of churchs and beat kids like me in the street for haveing a lip periced... Yes my mom and dad are Christain, I grew up in a Christian chruch, a chruch that I watched go out and beat kids. The more you push church and god on kids... the more they are pushed away from it and you. Beleave me, I know from my parents. If you let the kids do what they want to do, one day some will make a mistake and fall into as people say "gods hands" and will beleave again. Forceing them into a mental hospitly will not work... I know frist hand on some of these things, and if you saw me you would never think i am like i am. I am a nice girl if you make a good start off with me. And excuse my langue, But this is all a bunch of Horse Shit some lady sat down and wrote because that is what she though of her own kid.... Why dont you actully sit down and talk to your kids, see what the probally is and bond with them. Dont push them to church and away from you. All some of us was it love and attention from our parents....

You know I was supporting this war for some people I know over there... But now this has gone over the line. One of my very good friends, My "Big Brother" You could say, Jake, Was over fighting in this war. He is My X-Boy Friend's, Aaron, brother and i am very close with the family. I mostly supported this war for him and 2 other friends I know over there.

I mostly supported this war for him and 2 other friends I know over there. Anyway, Today in summer school my cell phone starts vibrateing, so I look in my bag and see it from a hidden number. So I just left it go till I got out of class, After My teacher let us out I called my voice mall box to see who it was, if they left a message. I listen to the message and found out it was Aaron and he sounded very upset so I was afraid to call back. When I got home I called Luke and talked to him for a little bit, to get my mind off of it and see what time we are to meet tomorrow. After we hung up I called Kritter Bug and talked to her for another hour and a half. Krita and I hung up and I finally got the courge to call Aaron back. When he answered his cell phone I greated him like Iusally do, saying a happy hello and blowing a kiss though the phone. He greated me back and everything seemed fine untill I heard the talking in the background. I heard his mother, Carly, crying and his father, Greg, comforting her telling her that everything was going to be ok and all the jazz. Then I heard the little 9 year old sister ask Aaron if it was true and didnt hear anything but Debbie, their sister, start crying. I blink a couple of times and after about 4 minutes of silence i asked him what was wrounge, if everything was ok... There was another moment of silence and then Aaron said "I though i sould tell you first before i called Mike and them..." he fell silent again. I then spoke up and asked "Aaron, you are scareing me... What is wrong?" He finally told me that Jake he died over in the war. He would not tell me how, just said that he had died. I told him Iwas sorry and that Iwas going to go and let him talk to his sister. This all didnt really sink in untill about a hour later. I layed in bed saying no, that Jake was going to be home in a couple of days and that he was going to call me when he did and of course like he alway did, Sing "I Dont Wanna Know" by New Found Glory. After it finally sunk in I cried for a little while untill I feel asleep, and got up at about a quarter after 9 and did alittle work around the house. Then jumped on her to get this all out. Jake would have been 26 on September 27, He had a Great little brother and sister. Took care of them like they where his own kids, He took me like a sister and was alway there for me.... He was always there for a friend if they needed him. He had very little faults... Even if he was a short tempered little fuck, as I called him, he was the only person I have even seen born that close to perfect.....

This is a note i wrote to my Friend and i thought it would be nice for people who think the same thing as her to read it.
(Remember this is aimed at Jetski, and anyone who thinks Davey Havok looks like a girl. Read it before you judge! Anyone who does can, FUCK OFF)

This whole thing with me being mad at you is not all true. I am not mad at you because you think Davey looks like a girl, I am not that stubborn and stupid to lose a friendship over that. I am mad because you and a couple other un-named people say it everyday and I am sick of it. Just because you think he looks like a girl does not me anything and I am fucking sick of hearing it. He may look like a girl, but that is your opinion. I think he is gorgeous because of who he is, and how he thinks. His lyrics and everything is what draws me to him even more. Just because you can’t see what I see in him does not give you the right say that stuff. Just keep it to your self, and don’t let me hear you say it. You and your friends, who said the same thing as you, always tell me to keep my opinions to myself, and I do so you should to. Don’t even think you can say that this whole AFI thing changed me either, just listen to them made me open up more. You guys around here don’t know me at all, don’t think you do. That is something that does piss me off, the one who knows my most would probably be Manderz because I am most like her even if I don’t let it out. Which would probably be why we fight a lot, be cause we are alike and do butt heads.

Davey is who he is and I love him for that, make-up, hair, nails and all. His lyrics make me love him more, most of all, even if you don’t listen to them, they pretence to me allot. Again I say, I have not opened total up to anyone up here in PA yet, so one knows me. And no one will, not even Andrea. I don’t like being called a poser because I get things that I like, and I know you guys probably call me that behind my back. Yeah care bears and AFI may not mix, but get use to it, that is me. Like me for who I am and don’t go judging me before you, as a friend, try and get me to open up to you, if you want to know me. Just try and keep your opinions to yourself, I ignored you, not because I am immature, which your probably said I was, but because I didn’t want to say anything I would have regretted. I am not saying all this to you in your face because I would probably end up breaking down and crying from everything that is going on right now, and this is adding to it. If you want to talk to me, then talk to me. But again, keep your opinions to your self, I am only asking you. And if you cant, then don’t even bother talking to me.

And I ask you to show this to anyone who said the same thing, mostly Krita and Bre. I know they have guys they like, and you do too, and I think they are ugly, But I don’t say anything to them, so why should you. I like what I like and you like what you like. We are two different people, with two different personalities. It is not a bad thing to butt heads at time, but just not take to out of proportion so much. Again I say I am not mad at you, I just didn’t want to say anything and then regret it later. So if you want to be mad at me fine, but I really don’t want to lose you or Luke as friends. I love you like a sister Sarah. And don’t want to fight.

Not a very nice day 5.3.2005 at 1:43pm Today.. Had to be one of the most horrible days of highschool. Not with despression this time however..... Like her opinion is coming straight from the pope's mouth this instant. SHE can say things about me, call me a whore and bitch 'jokingl'y, BUT if I were to DARE say anything about her that would even be distantly related to something that in her 'sweet' little mind of hers that she finds insulting, I need to be bitched at and burned at the stake. So guess what Brittany.. your not only an 'ass' (and anything else the female vocabulary can think off) your a self-centered bitch who assumes that you deserve your own way. YOU ARE the faggot.
